Registered General Nurse (RGN) | Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care, based on a nursing model of care. | Qualified Nurses, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. |
Health Care Assistant | Supporting the RGN to implement an agreed plan of care with the patient | Holds or working towards an NVQ in Health Care. |
Support Worker with learning difficulties experience | Working alongside adults who have learning difficulties. | Mandatory achievement of NVQ. Level 2 in Care within the first 18 months of employment. |
Support Worker with mental health experience | Working to ensure a healthy and normal lifestyle for people with a mental illness. | NVQ Level 3 in Care or NVQ Level 2 in Care and willing to undertake NVQ Level 3. |
Support Worker with alcohol and drug misuse | Working with vulnerable young people and adults to help them to sort out their immediate needs. | FDAP’s Drug & Alcohol Professional Certification. Work towards Level 3 Certificates for working with Substance Misuse. |
Chef – Nursing and Residential Homes, Day Centres | Controlling and managing the day to day running of the kitchen and catering services within a nursing/residential home. | City and Guilds (or equivalent) 706/1 and 2 or NVQ Level II/III and Food Safety Certificate. |
Chef – Schools, Industrial Canteens, Pubs, Restaurants, Hotels | Running a kitchen in a non- care or residential home setting. | Qualified to SVQ Level 2 (or City and Guilds 706 Level 2) plus current Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate. |
Catering Assistant | Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals. | Work towards qualifications for food hygiene, health and safety and food preparation techniques. |
Kitchen Assistant | Doing basic food preparation and being responsible for cleaning the kitchen. | Work towards qualifications for food hygiene, health and safety and food preparation techniques. |
Dining Room Assistant | Cleaning and tidying the dining room to a high standard of cleanliness. | Work towards appropriate NVQs. |
Laundry Assistant | Providing a laundry service to all residents, including washing and pressing personal clothing and linen | Work towards Level 2 NVQ Certificates in Laundry Operations and Laundry and Dry Cleaning Technology. |
Domestic Assistant/Cleaner | Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness in bedrooms and public areas within the home. | NVQ Level 1/2 Cleaning and Support Services plus knowledge of infection and hygiene procedures, health and safety and COSHH regulations. |
